Software we build for wildlife rehab, free for anyone to use

Small rehab programs rarely have a tech budget. We write the tools we need, run them on modest hardware, and publish the code so other rehabilitators can use and improve them.

turtle-ai

Camera monitoring that spots a flipped or trapped turtle and sends an alert, running entirely on local hardware.

Ask Susie

A chatbot grounded in our own care protocols, so volunteers get answers from SERC's knowledge base, not the open internet.

We work only with native and naturalized Virginia wildlife. We cannot take in exotic or purchased pet species (purchased turtles, tortoises, ball pythons, bearded dragons, etc.) and we do not rehome unwanted pets. For exotic species, please contact a local reptile rescue.
